EP. 137 [EN] Not Your Typical Mentorship – Behind the Scenes of CAREhER’s Mentor Her

When it comes to mentorship at the workplace for women – what comes to mind? Professional suits? Intense conversations? Well with CAREhER’s Mentor Her program, there’s no shortage of meaningful exchanges, but the most “intense” sparks come from members’ courage to share their authentic views, their vulnerabilities, and their openness to learn from one another. Join our well loved and respected mentors, Jennifer and Gwen, to hear how they bond with mentees over their shared love for whiskey and wine, or food – and how both of them give and learn from this community of emerging women leaders.

本集重點

Jennifer’s passion for people and curiosity led her to become a mentor. Though she had mentored in various capacities before, Mentor Her marked her first experience with group mentorship. Jennifer reflects on the power of group dynamics—the open exchange of ideas, the generous support system, and the non-judgmental space created in the program. It’s this collaborative energy, where mentees not only learn from mentors but also from each other, that left a lasting impression on her.

For Gwen, mentoring has shaped how she navigates her own professional challenges. Through reverse mentoring, where she learns just as much from her mentees as they do from her, Gwen has gained new perspectives that sharpen her problem-solving skills. Bridging diverse experiences in a shared context has made her mentorship journey both dynamic and fulfilling.

Both mentors recognize a common challenge facing late Millennials and Gen Z women: the importance of “networking” and building more connections. With international careers that have taken them across multiple countries, Jennifer and Gwen understand how difficult it can be for women to establish meaningful connections in new environments. Their advice? Immerse yourself in the culture and language, be present, and listen with intention. Approach networking with genuine curiosity to get to know others, and never shy away from opportunities to engage—even if it’s just saying yes to go out!

In this episode, we took a glimpse into the heart of the Mentor Her program, where mentorship is not just about giving top down guidance, but about mutual learning, growth, and building a strong, supportive community.
