2026 CAREhER – The Era of Care Intelligence | International Women’s Day Summit Highlight

At the seventh CAREhER International Women’s Day Summit, leaders across technology, policy, and global industries gathered at Taipei 101 to explore a defining question: as AI reshapes the world, how do we build systems that truly support how we live and lead? Under this year’s theme, *The Era of Care Intelligence*, the conversation shifted from capability to responsibility—reframing AI as not just a tool for efficiency, but one that must address real human needs.

The Era of Care Intelligence: Why This Moment Matters

Held at Taipei 101, this year’s summit centered on a timely shift: from building smarter systems to building ones that truly support how we live and lead.

As Taiwan continues to anchor the global AI supply chain, the conversation moved beyond technology itself to a more urgent question—how do we design systems that can carry the weight of modern life?

Because in an AI-driven world, intelligence is no longer the headline. Care is.

From governance to everyday decision-making, this year’s theme explored what it means to build resilience not just through efficiency, but through systems designed with accountability, inclusion, and real human impact in mind.

【Welcome Keynote: Cynthia Kiang, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Economics Affair】

The keynote opened with a clear message: AI is no longer a buzzword—it is an imperative for every sector.

Cynthia Kiang, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, started the conversation explaining Taiwan’s current status. With labor shortages and ongoing industrial transformation, AI is no longer optional, but a key to maintaining competitiveness across industries.

“AI is not just about developing new technology.” “It is the key to Taiwan’s industrial upgrading.” She said.

She outlined a national push to accelerate adoption, from investing in data centers and sovereign AI to supporting companies, especially SMEs, to hands-on advisory and training programs. The focus is not just on building technology, but making it usable and scalable in real-world applications.

She also emphasized that no country can develop AI alone. Taiwan’s strength lies in collaboration. Leveraging its leadership in hardware while deepening partnerships globally. Our direction is clear: AI is now a vital tool to move forward its industries, talent, and partnerships.

【Panel 1 -Building Intelligence — The Infrastructure Behind AI】

Moving beyond the surface of AI and into the systems shaping our future. At the heart of this conversation was a shift in perspective. We talked about AI as an ecosystem. As highlighted during the discussion, true innovation depends on the alignment of every layer—from energy and silicon to data, models, and real-world applications. When these pieces come together, Taiwan is uniquely positioned to lead as a Trusted AI Island on the global stage.

At the same time, intelligence on its own isn’t enough. The discussion returned often to context—AI needs to understand not just language, but culture, regulation, and local nuance. For Taiwan, that means building systems that reflect its own values while staying globally relevant.

There was also a grounding reminder: behind every intelligent system is something very physical. Power, cooling, and data centers are no longer background details—they are now part of national strategy.

What felt like a turning point was the move beyond the screen. AI is already stepping into the real world, factories, cities, everyday environments, quietly becoming part of how we live and work.

【Panel 2 – Care Intelligence — The human application】

The second panel, “Care Intelligence — The Human Application”, shifted the conversation from systems to people—how AI is beginning to reshape leadership, decision-making, and how we work together.

One line stayed with the room: we may be the last generation of leaders managing purely human organizations. As AI becomes embedded into everyday workflows, leadership is quietly shifting toward managing hybrid teams of humans and machines.

What came through clearly was that the next phase of AI will be defined by trust. Not as an abstract idea, but through very real choices—how systems are designed, what they prioritize, and who they are built for.

At the same time, there was a sense of possibility. As AI takes on more repetitive work, it creates space for leaders to focus on what only humans can do—judgment, empathy, and the conversations that move things forward.

We’re already seeing this play out in areas like healthcare, where AI is accelerating discovery in ways that weren’t possible before. But the question that kept coming back was simple: not what AI can do, but how we choose to lead alongside it.

This is the shift behind “Care Intelligence”—where advancing technology asks for more intentional, more responsible, and ultimately more human leadership.

【Keynote 2: Representative, British Office Taipei: Ruth Bradley- Jones】

Ruth Bradley-Jones, UK Representative, brought the focus to governance as the defining factor in how this moment unfolds.

“AI is set to shape the future of our work and of our world—but only inclusive governance will decide whether that future is fair.”

Her perspective was grounded in something familiar: systems only work when there are rules that create trust. In the case of AI, that means frameworks that can keep pace with innovation while still protecting people.

From global collaboration to safety standards, the conversation pointed to a shared challenge—how to guide something this powerful without slowing it down.

She closed with a clear call to action: this is a moment that requires participation. Not just to keep up with AI, but to take responsibility in shaping where it leads.

【Cheers to a shared AI Future】

As the summit transitioned into an intimate networking dinner at the Hyatt Residence, the energy softened—but the conversations only deepened.

The evening unfolded over three signature cocktails, each crafted as an extension of our partners’ perspectives, translating ideas into something you could quite literally hold in your hand. From bold to refined, every detail was designed to spark connection, not just conversation.

More than a dinner, it became a space where panels turned into personal exchanges, where ideas moved from stage to table, and where new collaborations quietly began.

The real momentum often starts here—over a drink, in good company, with the right people in the room. 🥂
