Singapore Highlight- Women’s roles in sustainability

The conversations continued as we moved into our signature #networking session, topics around self love, travels, career, entrepreneurship, motherhood, and even discussions about Taiwan-Singapore potential collaborations were overheard – in a mixture of Singlish, English and Mandarin no less!

We had an incredible time meeting with members at our event in Singapore on March 11 weekend, at Mandala Club- a community of communities. Joined by talented individuals and professionals, industry leaders and entrepreneurs from across APAC, we love finding similarities despite our diverse background.

Our Editor-in-Chief Christina Lin, kick started our event with a warm welcome and was joined by Singapore’s very own entrepreneur Kate Low– Founder of Perk by Kate,

Why Women’s Role in Sustainability

We bring these insightful discussions together because we believe women can make a difference through the choices we make as a consumer, and also, as a smart investor.  We revisited our highlights from our International Women’s Day Summit– hear inspiring stories of how Waka Takahashi help built a brand that supports the livelihood of Madagascar women, while stepping onto the international stage at Milan Fashion Week; we also hear from Allen Liu from Standard Chartered Bank, on how women can invest in sustainability, not only for their own financial gains (important of course!), but also for a more sustainable future.

Kate’s honest sharing as a mom-preneur.

Our fangirl moment is when Kate (Perk By Kate) spoke about her local entrepreneurship journey, explaining the concept behind her brand and how she contributes back to the society through various campaigns and community partnerships. How Kate did a bra donation initiative and her lingerie collection specially designed for breast cancer survivors. A very genuine and honest sharing as a small business owner who faces her own set of business challenges, while being a mother of two – had a good laugh and some nods in agreement over how difficult it is to strike a balance!

Thank you to all members and guests who joined us at our first event partnered with Mandala Club! Our next Singapore event will be on the 6th of May and we look forward to building a beautiful chapter here in Singapore!
