AI & SHE | COMPUTEX Week 2026 Networking Tea
During COMPUTEX Week, thousands gathered across Taipei to discuss chips, infrastructure, and the next generation of artificial intelligence. Amid those conversations, more than 60 women leaders and allies came together for a different kind of dialogue.
Who will shape the future of AI?
Co-hosted by the Netherlands Office Taipei and CAREhER, the AI & SHE Networking Tea brought together leaders from policy, law, technology, manufacturing, startups, venture capital, and government. While each participant represented a different part of the ecosystem, the discussion quickly revealed a shared understanding: the future of AI will not be defined by technology alone, but by the people, partnerships, and perspectives behind it.
AI is built through collaboration
One theme surfaced repeatedly throughout the afternoon: no single company, country, or discipline will build the AI era alone.
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly interconnected across hardware, software, policy, and infrastructure, meaningful progress will depend on collaboration that extends beyond organizational and national boundaries. Building the future requires not only technical excellence but also the ability to work across industries, cultures, and sectors.
Telling Taiwan’s story
Alexis Crowell of Axelera AI reflected on Taiwan’s unique position within the global technology ecosystem. While Taiwan has long been indispensable to the world’s semiconductor and manufacturing supply chains, its voice is often underrepresented in the global conversation.
The next challenge, she noted, is not simply continuing to build world-class technology, but learning to tell Taiwan’s story with greater confidence and helping shape the narrative of innovation on the global stage.
From execution to architecture
Grace Wang of ASML spoke about the growing importance of combining commercial judgment with geopolitical awareness and the cultural fluency needed to lead across markets. She shared a thought from Wiwynn Chair Emily Hong that resonated throughout the room:
“We need to be the architect, not just the enabler or the execution engine. If there’s one thing the Taiwan ecosystem should do, it’s to invite ourselves to the table — and help define the architecture.”
The quote captured a broader shift in mindset: moving beyond world-class execution toward active participation in defining the future itself.
Leading across borders
Monica Chia-Hsin Chung of Wiwynn expanded on this idea through her own leadership experience.
“Align globally. Adapt locally.”
Speaking candidly about Wiwynn’s expansion into the United States, she described how leadership cannot simply be exported from one market to another. Differences in workplace culture, labor regulations, and communication styles require leaders to listen carefully, adapt intentionally, and earn trust within each local context.
Her perspective served as a reminder that global leadership is less about following a universal playbook than developing the discipline to learn continuously across cultures.
Building the next layer
Only days before the event, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang described AI during his COMPUTEX keynote as something that is built in layers. Leadership is no different. The future will not be created by any one individual, company, or country. It will be built layer by layer through collaboration, trust, and the willingness to step forward before the path is fully defined.
As AI continues to reshape industries around the world, conversations like AI & SHE remind us that the technology may be transforming rapidly — but it is the people behind it who will ultimately determine the future we build together.
